Our Founder and History
Grace Hall founded Adopt-a-dog/Save-a-life Inc. in 1980. In 1990 Grace was awarded the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship. For the past 30 years, Grace and a small team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to save thousands of dogs. We encourage all animal shelters to incorporate policies that would have all dogs spayed and neutered BEFORE they are put up for adoption.

Some of Our Success Stories

Mary Kate and Ashley

Mary Kate and Ashley

Mary Kate and Ashley are two 10 year old Schnauzers that were found abandoned on the side of the road near London Ontario. We rescued them earlier this year. They are now in a wonderful home with Marion and James and their lovely Schnauzer sister named Misha.

Daisy

Daisy

Rachel and Brian adopted Daisy – a beautiful lab mix we rescued from a shelter in Northern Ontario.

They have worked hard to transition her to their home and make her a part of their family. It has been a successful adoption thanks to their commitment to her training and care

“Proud graduate!! So pretty!!!!! She makes our hearts hurt we love her so much!!!”

Maggie Mae

Maggie Mae

Wes and Marta adopted Maggie Mae – one of our puppy mill rescues.

Today we are celebrating 2 years with Maggie Mae! She is a totally different doggie. She loves to play, she knows how to sit, and wait, and touch.  She loves loves loves to snuggle and kiss.  In fact, her most favourite thing in the world is to snuggle up on the couch with us.

Here is a video of Maggie playing with her favourite toy.  This was actually the first time she picked it up.  She watched Liam play with it for almost 6 months, and then, one day when Liam was not paying attention she scurried over and stole it from him! (He didn’t mind so much).  Then she took it up on the bed with her to play:

Duke

Duke

A wonderful update from adopters of Duke – a 12 year old black lab we rescued from a shelter in Northern Ontario.

“We love him so much.  He is perfect in our home.  It’s like he’s always been here. We love him so much!”
